Hello World!

Here I am, This is me
I come to this world so wild and free
Here I am, So young and strong
Right here in the place where I belong
It’s a new world
It’s a new start
It’s alive with the beating of a young heart
It’s a new day, In a new land
And it’s waiting for me
Here I am

For those of you who don’t know, that right there is one of the most epic songs released from the 2000s. Sang by one Bryan Adams. I chose to lead with it because I believe it accurately sums up my current state of mind as I write this post. Like a ship about to make its maiden voyage, I stand on the horizon ready to venture out into a new sea, a new world.

It has been quite a challenge getting the words to write this. That I believe, can be attributed to a form of stage fright. How does stage fright come into play you ask? Well this site is the stage, and you dear reader are my audience. This being the genesis of my exodus from my comfort zone, there is an immense amount of pressure to capture your attention and make sure you come back for more.

Now, I could have prepared for this in advance but I must admit my priorities were quite different. The development of this site took up quite some time and I do remember thinking, “I’ll do it when am done. How hard can it be?”. Boy, how wrong I was. In true bachelor fashion I had spent time cooking a meal only to discover that I had no plates. There I was with a great looking website that was fresh as a mug and no content to go on it. Much like the times you could go into an exam with all the answers and go blank once the paper was placed before you. It was only after a lengthy session of googling (Thank you Google) that I finally managed to come up with this post.

I am Kevin Omyonga, first of my name (as far as I know), writer of code, lifter of weights, solver of problems and legend in the making. I now add a new title to my list, teller of tales. I am a tech enthusiast and would like to use this as a platform to share any knowledge that I deem of interest to myself and any like-minded individuals. However, this will not just be a tech blog. I plan to spice it up with beans, greens, potatoes, tomatoes you name it. Bear in mind that I will be sharing my opinions here. And though they may not be congruent with your own, let us be civil about it. We are not savages.

With that said, I’d like to end this post here. After all, over sharing on the first date doesn’t really leave a good impression. This marks my entry into the world of blogging. As Archimedes once said:

Give me where to stand and I will move the earth.

Hello world, prepare to be moved.
Till next time.
K.O. Out.
