Fight The Fright

In the absence of light
Things go bump in the night
For without clear sight
The mind is left prey to fright

So much could lurk in the empty night
Creatures wielding inhuman might
Prowling about seeking a fight
All to broaden your plight

All manner of danger may loom
And make you wonder in fright
If it would be wise to take flight
And distance yourself from doom

Sadly, one can only run so far
Sooner or later the danger will catch up
Your body will tire as you view sanctuary from afar
All because your human form could not match up

So now you face the creatures of the night
And you must choose how to face the plight
Bow and die in cowardly fright
Or stand tall and bravely fight the fright.
